Robin Williams Art Show

Robin Williams is opening an exhibition in Brooklyn this week called After Birth. Her paintings depict childhood in a manner that is more grim, surreal and uncensored than that is often portrayed. The painting show the mess that is real life. and as a side note, remind me slightly of Garbage Pail Kids.

Chanel Phone - Crazy Shit

designed by Fred de Garilhe and called the Chanel Coco Phone
this phone works by integrating an optical fiber system that display image between two glass parts. There are 12 micro lighter fibers, that throw image components to the glass, that offer a quite good luminosity, and keep the mobile phone concept as light as possible. All lights only appear when you open the phone, by pushing removable part on the side of it.

Vampire Weekend

Vampire Weekend provides the listener with a type of indie pop infused with african drumming, more then a little reggae/ska influence as well as definite reference to 90's brit pop. and its not bad.
There debut album is out now, on XL Recordings. Below is a video for APunk.

Finelli 12 speed vs The Future

Now that its officially spring (according to me), I have begun cleaning up my old 12 speed italian roadster to be ready for the bicycling season. I hope to maybe build a brand new bike this summer if I have the money/time, neither of which I have too much of right now. I really wan to make a super light single gear bike that I can eventually add on gears too. But for now I have been cleaning up and tuning the old guy and thinking about getting some new tires. I used to use my bike for all of my transportation, and hope to get back into gear (har har har) this spring. Last summer was nice zooming down government to work, stopping on the way for a nice americano and enjoying downtown victoria in the morning.
